UAE defeated Nepal by 6 wickets in the first Twenty20 International on Monday. UAE achieved the target of 78 runs in 10 overs due to rain with 7 balls to spare.

UAE captain Mohammad Wasim hit 2 fours and a six in the first over of the match against debutant Hemant Dhami at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. When Wasim was on 24, wicketkeeper Arjun Saud dropped the catch off Nandan Yadav.

Wasim hit a six off Sandeep Lamichhane, who came in with the fourth over. Sandeep dismissed him on the next ball. Wasim scored 33 runs in 15 balls with 3 fours and a six. Two balls later, Sandeep dismissed Abid Usmani lbw for 2 runs.

In his second over, Sandeep dismissed Harpreet Singh (2). Alisan Sarafu scored 18 runs in 15 balls with 1 four and a six before being dismissed by Kushal Malla. Akshadeep Nath scored 17 runs in 8 balls and Sohail Khan scored 2 runs to lead UAE to victory.

Nepal, who won the toss and batted in the first international cricket match played at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Stadium after the reconstruction, scored 122 runs in 18.5 overs when rain interrupted the match. After that, the match was affected and UAE was given a new target in 10 overs.
