Amidst confusion and uncertainty, the Nepali women's national team has cleared the way to play the Women's SAFF Championship to be held in Goa, India. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), which was suspended by the National Sports Council, announced a preliminary 35-member team for the competition on Tuesday.
Questions were raised about Nepal's participation in the competition amid the Nepali football controversy. Coach Navin Neupane made this announcement as the preliminary list had to be submitted a month before the start of the competition. Now the preparations will start from Monday next week.

'We will make every effort to participate in the competition,' said ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah, 'The only problem in this too will be government interference, otherwise there will be no problem in participating.'
Nepal had missed the FIFA series to be held in Thailand due to the football controversy. Women players had also demanded that the team's participation be confirmed amid the football controversy. Now that the preliminary list of players has been submitted, the way to participate in the competition is open.
The announced team includes Anjila Subba, Anjana Rana Magar, Anita Basnet, Anita Lamjel, Anita KC, Asmita Nepali, Barsha Oli, Bimala BK, Bimala Chaudhary, Birsna Chaudhary, Deepa Shahi, Geeta Rana, Hira Bhujel, Jennifer Rana, Manmaya Damai, Neha Chaudhary and Nisha Thokar.
Other players in the same team include Poonam Chemjong, Pratiksha Chaudhary, Preeti Rai, Pooja Rana, Purnima Rai, Rashmikumari Ghising, Rekha Poudel, Renuka Nagarkote, Sabina Chaudhary, Sajni Thokar, Samiksha Ghimire, Saraswati Hamal, Saru Limbu, Silu Pariyar, Skripa Mia, Sushila Kumari and Usha Nath.
