Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium Kirtipur will host an international match under floodlights for the first time and Dipendra Singh Airi will be the full captain of Nepal for the first time. The Twenty20 International cricket match between Nepal and UAE will likely focus on these two issues. 

Nepal seems to have used the two Twenty20 International matches against UAE on Monday and Tuesday as an experiment. This is the first time since the Twenty20 World Cup in India two months ago that it is going to play in this format. Nepal seems to be looking at this match against UAE as part of the process of building a new Twenty20 team by giving a chance to new players. 

Rohit, who was the captain before, along with Asif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Karan KC and Lalit Rajbanshi, have not been included in Nepal's Twenty20 team. They have been kept out of Nepal's Twenty20 team to focus on the important series of the upcoming World Cup Cricket League 2. Dipendra will captain Nepal against UAE. Nepal had given Dipendra the captaincy, stating that they would have different captains in ODIs and T20Is. Rohit captained Nepal in the most T20 Internationals, 59 matches. 

In Rohit's absence, Dipendra captained Nepal against Canada in a World Cup warm-up match in Chennai and led them to victory. Dipendra, who is associated with Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has come to Kathmandu and joined Nepal's training team. Under his captaincy, Sudurpaschim Royals has played in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final twice. 

This is the first time that an international match is being played under floodlights at the Kirtipur ground. Although NPL matches were held under floodlights in Kirtipur in November-December, this is the first time that international cricket is being played under lights. For the first time since March 2024, a men's T20 International is being held in Kirtipur. 

Santosh and Hemant are hoping for their debut

Young players Santosh and Hemant are waiting for their debut in the Twenty20 International. Santosh is in the Nepali team for the first time. Hemant has already made his debut in the One Day International against Canada in 2024. 

After their impressive performance in the recent Prime Minister's Cup national cricket tournament, these two have opened the door for the Nepali team in the Twenty20 International. Left-arm spin all-rounder Santosh took 21 wickets and scored 265 runs in the Prime Minister's Cup. 

Fast bowler Hemant was adjudged the best bowler by taking the most wickets in the Prime Minister's Cup. Due to his efforts, the Far West Province reached the final. This was the first time that any provincial team reached the final of the Prime Minister's Cup. 

Batsman Kushal Malla and wicketkeeper-batsman Arjun Saud are making their comeback to the Nepali team in the Twenty20 Internationals from this UAE series. In Asif's absence, one of Arjun and Lokesh Bam will play the role of wicketkeeper.
