Pathari secured a semi-final berth by shocking Red Horse Football Club Ilam by 4 goals to 2 in the opening match on Saturday.
The hosts took the lead early in the match, which became interesting from the start. Sandesh Khadka of Red Horse Football Club scored a goal in the third minute of the match to give the home team the lead.
Red Horse, who maintained the lead in the first half, tried to maintain the pressure in the second half as well, but it could not last until the end. In the final minutes of the match, Saurya Raut of Pathari-11 scored a goal to tie the match 1-1.
After neither team could score more goals in the stipulated time, the match was decided by the try-break. Pathari-11 performed excellently and won 4-2 in the try-break. The 'Man of the Match' of the inaugural match was Pathari-11's Ashish Lawati. The organizer has stated that a match will be held between Phidim Sporting Club and Jhapa's Rolling Club Dhulabari on Sunday.
8 teams from Nepal and abroad are participating in the competition, which will be held till Baisakh 12. The winning team of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 million and the runner-up will receive a trophy, medal and certificate along with a prize of Rs 5 million.
