The construction of a cricket stadium has progressed at Yagya Bhoomi in Lahan Municipality-4, Siraha. The construction of the stadium has started with the joint investment of the association and the local government.
Mayor Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary formally laid the foundation stone for the construction of the stadium on Thursday. The total cost of the stadium is estimated at 82.3 million rupees, and Sanjay JC Tanishka JV Construction Company has won the contract for 56.2 million rupees.
The municipality had allocated 50 million rupees for this and the federal government had allocated 30 million rupees. According to the contract agreement between the municipality and the construction company, this stadium should be completed by Chaitra 2083.
Mayor Chaudhary expressed his belief that with the construction of this cricket stadium, local talents will come into the mainstream and Lahan will become a hub for sports. He said that this will also have a positive impact on the local economy and tourism.
