The ninth edition of the Ncell Bahrakhari Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held at the Gokarna Golf Course on April 19. Bahrakhari Media announced through a press conference on Thursday that more than 100 golfers will participate in the tournament, which is organized every year. The winner of the tournament, which will feature corporate personalities, will receive a 24-carat gold ball award. Similarly, the winners of various other categories will receive gift hampers and trophies. The game will be held in a stable four format over 18 holes. The winner of the hole-in-one tournament will win a BYD Atto Three car.  

An economic symposium will also be held on the same occasion. Bahrakhari Media Chairman Pratik Pradhan informed that the economic symposium will discuss the recent global economic fluctuations and their impact on countries like Nepal.

He said that the economic symposium was organized with the aim of bringing prominent business and economic figures to compete in golf, discussing the economic situation of the country and facilitating the government in policy formulation and decision-making processes.  

Former CEO of the Indian Policy Commission Amitabh Kant and former Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal will present working papers at the economic symposium to be hosted by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

It is said that foreign players will participate in the competition this year as well, as in the past. Representatives of foreign missions in Nepal will participate in the competition.

Deepak Acharya, Secretary of the Nepal Golf Association and Director of the competition, informed about the technical aspects of the golf competition and said that the potential of golf tourism in Nepal is high. He said, ‘Nepal’s climate is very conducive for golf tourism. Please raise the issue of golf tourism through this economic symposium.’

Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrud Ghimire, Ncell’s Sulabh Bista, BYD’s official distributor Cymax Inc.’s Yamuna Shrestha, Nepal Distillery’s brand manager Sudiksha Adhikari discussed how this program played an important role in bringing the voice of the corporate sector along with golf to the policy-making level.
