Wards 1 and 5 have won the inaugural match of the city-level girls' football Mayor's Cup tournament. Ward 1 defeated Ward 3 5-0 in the match held on Wednesday at the Late Sher Bahadur Darlami Sports Ground in Chandrapur, while Ward 5 defeated Ward 2 1-0 in the second match. Lalita Mandal scored the first goal for Ward 1 in the 7th minute of Wednesday's match. Kalpana Zimba added the second goal for the team in the 14th minute of the match. Sanima Lo scored the third goal in the 34th minute. Ward 3, which was trailing by three goals, could not open the goal account. In the match after noon, Kalpana Zimba from Ward 1 scored two consecutive goals and the team registered a 5-0 victory. Kalpana Zimba was named 'Player of the Match'.
In the second match, Sadiksha Poudel of Ward No. 5 scored the first goal for the team in the 18th minute of the match. Her goal led to the team's victory. The players of Ward No. 2 tried hard to score. Sanjita Bal Tamang of Ward No. 2 had several opportunities to score. But she could not convert the ball into a goal. Sadiksha Poudel of Ward No. 5 was declared the 'Player of the Match' in the match. All 9 wards of Chandrapur Municipality participated in the competition.
