National cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has come to Hetauda to encourage young players looking for a future in cricket.
Lamichhane came to Hetauda on Wednesday to share his experience with the players at the grassroots cricket training (Cricket Academy) run by the Hetauda Sports Academy in Gardoi, Hetauda-4.
A successful player in Nepali sports history, Lamichhane has experience participating in many international-level franchise cricket competitions. He spent about two hours at the academy. According to academy operator Kovid Baniya, he claimed that Lamichhane's visit will further help in encouraging new players.
Preparations are underway to invite other national players to visit the academy in the coming days to encourage junior players, improve their skills and provide necessary support, said operator Baniya. More than 50 players are undergoing training at the academy. "Our goal is to make as many junior players as possible members of the national team through training. The academy is working hard in various ways for that," he said.
Lamichhane gave tips to the players that if they move forward with discipline and strong faith, they will definitely succeed. "Hard work is necessary to find a future in cricket," Lamichhane said, "Work hard, you will definitely succeed."
