Senior volleyball coach Bharat Yadav was honored for his contribution to the development and expansion of Nepal's national sport, volleyball. Bivas Thapa of Tribhuvan Army Club and Meena Sunar of Everest Volleyball Club were awarded the Emerging Player of the Year award. They received Rs 50,000 each. Chandra Bahadur Kunwar of Nepal Police Club won the award in the men's category and Kumar Rai of New Diamond Club won the award in the women's category. They also received Rs 50,000 each. Volleyball coach Jagdish Bhatta was specially felicitated.

The runner-up team in the Kabha Women's U-19 Volleyball was honored with Rs 6 lakh. Police Club won the best team award for men and New Diamond won the best team award for women. Both received Rs 2 lakh each.

Volleyball was recognized as a national sport on 2074 BS Jestha 8. After that, the Nepal Volleyball Association started this award. The then president Manoranjan Raman Sharma started the award by establishing a revolving fund of Rs 10 lakh.
