Asif Sheikh has become the first player to score a double century in a domestic national competition. Asif scored 208 runs in the match against Madhesh Pradesh at the Narayani Cricket Stadium in Birgunj on Monday under the PM Cup. He hit 17 sixes and 15 fours in 142 balls.

Opening batsman Asif had retired and returned to the pavilion. He has already scored a century in this edition of the PM Cup. He scored 114 runs in the match against Bagmati in Mulpani.

Earlier, the record for scoring the most runs in a domestic national competition was in the name of Pradeep Airi. He had scored 158 runs against Madhesh (Province 2) from APF in a match played in Kirtipur in 2018.
