Jhapa-11 defeated departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club by a margin of 2-1 in a competitive match held at the Shahid Stadium in Biratnagar on Saturday evening.
Striker Phaguram Tharu became the hero of Jhapa's victory. He scored goals in the 10th and 44th minutes of the game to give the team an important victory. Tharu, who performed well, was declared the 'Player of the Match' and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 11,000. Tharu, who has been playing for ANFA Vice President Dawa Lama's team Planning Boys, is participating in the Virat Gold Cup from Jhapa-11 this time.

According to Dhankumar Lama, spokesperson of the trust, the winner of the tournament will receive Rs 1.1 million and the runner-up will receive Rs 5 million along with a trophy. Similarly, the best coach, best goalkeeper and highest scorer will receive Rs 15,000 each.
Similarly, the best player of the tournament will receive Rs 51,000 and the player of the match of each match will receive Rs 11,000. According to the organizers, it is estimated that about Rs 1.5 million will be spent to organize the tournament.
