Real Madrid's title challenge in Spain's La Liga was further weakened on Friday. They were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at home by Girona. Both goals in the game came in the second half.
Real had taken the lead at the Bernabeu through Fede Valverde. But Thomas Lammers equalised for Girona. The result leaves Real second with 70 points from 31 games. That's six points behind leaders Barcelona.
Barcelona now face Espanyol on Sunday and a win could see them take a nine-point lead at the top of the table. Girona are 12th with 38 points.
