Arjun Kulung of Solukhumbu has won the first place in the open marathon competition organized in Lamjung. He won the title by completing the 26-kilometer distance in 1 hour and 59 minutes.

According to Khushi Maya Gurung, the president of Lamjung JCs for the year 2026, the first, second, third and fourth place winners have been awarded cash prizes of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
With the aim of spreading the message of world peace, the marathon, which started from Besisahar Municipality-10 Pishill on Saturday, reached the Gaunsahar Lamjung Durbar in Ward No. 3 via the district headquarters Besisahar.
The JCs stated that the competition was organized with the aim of attracting youth towards sports and creating positive energy. 30 players participated in the competition.
Guman Singh Aryal, Mayor of Besisahar Municipality, said that such sports activities would help spread the message of world peace along with promoting health.
