The Tuvel Football Training Center, run by former Nepali national football team captain Biraj Maharjan and goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu, has started a summer football camp from Saturday.
The camp will run until April 5 at the Nepal Sports Fellowship ground in Satdobato. 61 trainees participated on the first day. The camp aims to keep students away from gadgets for a while, as well as to attract them to Nepal's popular game of football from an early age, while also improving their physical and mental health.
On the first day of this camp, children aged 4 to 16 were divided into groups according to age and trained. The students will be trained by Biraj as well as AFC-accredited coaches. Bikesh was not present at the camp as he was playing the Virat Gold Cup with Tribhuvan Army Football Club.
A development plan will be prepared targeting the growth of the children and the children will be trained accordingly throughout the camp period. Nepal Football Players Association President and former national player Bikram Lama and Aegis Managing Director Suraj Magar inaugurated the TFTC Summer Football Camp. Aegis is a sportswear retailer.
This training center has been working on the development and enhancement of children's football skills for the past 6 months. The training center has been conducting grassroots training every Saturday. Two promising trainees from among the participants in this camp will receive a scholarship for 1 year at Tuvel Football Training Center.
