Himalayan White House IB World School has awarded scholarships to 11 players of Kathmandu Cricket Academy (KCA). An agreement was signed between the academy and Himalayan White House on Thursday at KCA in Chunikhel, Budhanilkantha Municipality.
The agreement was signed by KCA directors Madan Karki and Kundan Khadka and Himalayan White House chairman Yubaraj Sharma. The agreement is for a period of five years. The agreement was signed in the presence of Jagat Tamata, former head coach of the Nepali national cricket team and director and head coach of KCA.
The main objective of the collaboration is to strengthen the educational and sports development of young cricketers. According to the agreement, KCA will identify, train and recommend talented and qualified young cricketers, while Himalayan White House will provide scholarships to them. The players will receive scholarships up to grade 10. The agreement also states that the scholarship will continue till Plus Two. As per the agreement, Kathmandu Cricket Academy will regularly monitor the progress, discipline and training of the players and inform the school. Himalayan White House will give priority to the players recommended by the academy and provide scholarships, arrange for additional classes and alternative assessments if necessary, and promote KCA as its official cricket partner.
KCA Director and Head Coach Jagat Tamata mentioned that education is indispensable for players. He said, ‘Players should not just waste their time playing, they also need education.’ White House Chairman Sharma said that cricket development should be emphasized from the grassroots, taking it as a new beginning. ‘We have been promoting sports for more than two decades. We have contributed to the production of many national cricketers.’ Now we have started this initiative with the aim of preparing players from the school level,' he said.
KCA Director Madan Karki expressed his belief that this collaboration will provide great motivation to the players looking for a future in cricket and will prove to be a milestone in enhancing their capabilities. On behalf of the parents, Ganesh Kumar Khadka thanked both the organizations and expressed his belief that this program will make a great contribution in producing excellent cricketers in the future.
