The Nepal Tennis Association is organizing the ITF Asia 12 and Under Team Tennis Tournament from 30 Chaitra.

According to the organizing association at a press conference on Thursday, the tournament, which will feature the participation of six South Asian nations, including Bangladesh, will last for four days. 33 players from Nepal, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will participate in the tournament to be held at the Tennis Complex in Satdobato.

This is also a qualifying tournament for the Asian finals to be held in Singapore from September 15 to 20. The two teams that reach the finals in both the boys and girls categories from this South Asian qualifier will go to Singapore, informed the association's president Manohardas Mul.

Nepal will be represented by Arit Malla, Sabyajung Karki and Sahansh Bastet in the boys' category and Sara Pant, Arya Poudel and Naira Singh Ghale in the girls' category. Suryabhushan Bajracharya will be the coach of the boys' team and Kanchha Khadgi will be the coach of the girls' team.

Tournament Director Ajay Bista informed that 3-3 players were selected for this tournament through a qualifying tournament. The tournament will be a team competition. There will be two singles and one doubles match.

This is the fifth time Nepal is hosting this ITF junior tournament. Chairman Mull said that the ITF has given the opportunity to host it again as it has successfully hosted the tournament in 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2024. ITF representative Jonathan Stubbs will come for the tournament, while ITF Silver Batch referee Suprit Kadaviger has already arrived in Nepal.
