The Nepali climbing team is set to leave for China on Sunday to participate in the 20th Asian Games qualifying tournament and the World Championship to be held in Japan.

Tenzing Bertin Rai and Ronak Upreti will represent Nepal in both the men's and women's competitions, and Swastika Chaudhary will represent Nepal in the Asian Climbing Championship.

The Asian Climbing Championship will be held in Misan, China from April 8 to 12. Nepal will compete in the boulder and lead events. Nepal Climbing Sport Association General Secretary Santosh Maden said that to secure a place in the Asian Games, the top 16 must be ranked.

Similarly, the World Climbing Series will be held in Keqiao, China from May 1 to 3. It includes only the bouldering discipline.
