Ghale Harvesting Australia has won the Kalika Cup Open Men's Volleyball title, which has been ongoing in Baglung for seven days on the occasion of Chaite Dashain. Ghale won the title by defeating Siddhartha Chasma Ghar in the final match held at Kalika Udyan, Baglung on Monday.

Ghale had to fight hard for the title in the match between Ghale Harvesting Australia, which has a majority of Nepal Police Club players, and Siddhartha, which has a majority of Gandaki Province Volleyball Team players. Ghale won the first match by a score of 26-24 but lost the second and third matches. Siddhartha won the second match by 25-23 and the third match by 25-19, while Ghale advanced the match by 25-16 in the fourth match.

Entering the final match for the victory, Ghale defeated Siddhartha 15-8. Ghale won the match and received a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh. Siddhartha settled for Rs 2 lakh. The final match started on Sunday but was stopped due to rain and was played only on Monday afternoon.

To enter the final, Ghale defeated Goundakot Youth Club in straight sets of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-16 on Saturday. Siddhartha Chashma Ghar, on the other hand, defeated Aditya Holding Tityang in sets of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-17 to reach the final. In the match, Ghale Harvesting Australia's Pahal Gahatraj was declared the best player.

Siddhartha's Santosh BK and Ghale's Balram Gurung were the best. Bhupendra Khadka, chairman of the Kalika Guthi Management Committee, said that the best players were given Rs 5,000 each. Rajan Darlami of Siddharth was declared the defender, Resam Bik of Ghale was declared the rising player, Bishnu Basnet of Ghale was declared the server, Himal Sunari of Siddharth was declared the blocker, and Mukesh Century of Ghale was declared the best coach, informed the sports coordinator Kishore Chantyal.

Elite Volleyball Academy Pokhara has won the title of the open women's volleyball tournament. In the final match held on Sunday, Elite defeated Shanta Secondary School Pokhara in straight sets of 3-0.

Elite won the match in the match held at Kalika Udyan, Baglung in sets of 25-23, 25-22, 25-23. Shanta Secondary School could not get the result in the competitive match. Elite received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh for coming first. Shanta Secondary School settled for Rs 50,000 for coming second.

To make the Chaite Dashain Mela the best, the Baglung Kalika Guthi Management Committee has been organizing an open women's and men's volleyball competition every year. The Chaite Dashain Mela, which has been running since Chait 9, will continue till Tuesday, the organizers have said. There were also performances by national artists at the fair.
