Indu Burma has returned as the captain of the Nepali women's national cricket team. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Monday announced an 18-member squad for the second leg of the ICC Women's Challenge Trophy to be held in Rwanda under Indu's captaincy. Indu was out of action after sustaining an injury in the Women's T20 World Cup qualifier against Scotland in Kathmandu in January, which caused her to miss the Women's Asia Cup Rising Stars in Bangkok, Thailand in February. Indu was replaced by Pooja, who captained Nepal in Bangkok. CAN recalled Indu to the 29-member squad for the tournament in Rwanda. Indu has been reinstated as captain after a closed training camp. Pooja will once again be the vice-captain of the Nepali team.
The Nepali team announced along with Pooja includes Rubina Chhetri, Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Ruby Podar, Kavita Joshi, Kavita Kunwar, Riya Sharma, Roma Thapa, Suman Bista, Anu Kadayat, Seemana KC, Manisha Upadhyay, Rachana Chaudhary, Soni Pakhrin, Sana Pravin and Savitra Dhami.
Veteran Sita Rana Magar has not been included in the 18-member team. Nepal will compete in a double round-robin league against the United States, Vanuatu and Rwanda in the tournament to be held in Rwanda from April 18 to May 1.
