Recalling that she trained with him for almost 10 years, runner Rokaya said, ‘It is a matter of pride for Jumla girls to compete on an international level.’ Earlier, sports talents had to remain confined to the local level.
‘When it comes to sports, there used to be despair among the youth,’ said runner Rokaya, ‘now there is a lot of interest in sports among the youth.’ Rammaya’s victory and achievements have encouraged the youth to join the sports field.
