The Prime Minister's (PM) Cup Men's National Tournament saw two results that will be remembered for a long time in domestic cricket. Tribhuvan Army Club's Kushal Malla played one of the best innings in PM Cup history, while Gandaki Province defeated Nepal APF Club in the most unexpected result in domestic cricket.

After Kushal scored an unbeaten 90, Army defeated Bagmati Province by 3 wickets in a sensational match at the upper ground of Mulpani. Bagmati, who were invited to bat after losing the toss in the match shortened to 28 overs due to rain, scored 208 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. After Kushal's brilliant innings, Army scored 210 runs with 1 ball to spare.

The equation was that Army needed 37 runs in the last 3 overs. But in the 26th over, Ishan Pandey dismissed Naren Saud and Pawan Karki in consecutive balls, and Army's situation became more complicated and it became necessary to score 34 runs in the last two overs. Kushal hit 22 runs with three sixes off Bagmati captain Sandeep Lamichhane in the 27th over. 

With Army needing 12 runs to win in the last over, Shahab Alam gave Kushal a strike by adding 1 run in the first ball. Kushal, who could not take any runs in the second ball, hit a four in the third. Despite being wide by Region Dhakal in the next ball, Kushal hit 2 runs and a six in the next two balls to give Army a sensational victory. Player of the Match Kushal hit 3 fours and 8 sixes in 58 balls. 

Opener Tritaraj Das scored 54 runs. He hit 4 fours and 1 six in 48 balls. Captain Binod Bhandari got out for 9, Arjun Saud for 14, Bhim Sarki for 5 and Bashir Ahmed for 4. Kushal and Naren shared a 54-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Naren scored 26 runs in 22 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Bagmati's Ishan and Vivek Rana Magar took 2-2 wickets and Region, Sandeep and Sonu Devkota took 1-1 wickets.

Earlier, Bagmati had made a strong score by adding 68 runs in the last 6 overs. Sonu and Sandeep shared an unbeaten 50-run partnership in 25 balls for the eighth wicket. Sonu made 30 in 19 balls and Sandeep made 21 runs in 12 balls and remained unbeaten. Sonu hit 2 fours and 1 six and Sandeep hit 2 sixes.

Opener Ashutosh Ghiraiya scored the highest 38 runs. He hit 5 fours in 36 balls. Shubha Kansakar made 15, Pawan Thapa made 35 in 37 balls with 3 fours, Ishan 3, Vivek made 30 in 24 balls with 3 fours and 1 six, Uttam Thapa Magar made 1 and Pratish GC made 28 runs in 15 balls with 2 fours and a six.

Army's Naren took 4 wickets. He gave away 26 runs in 6 overs. Shahab, Durgesh Gupta and Bashir Ahmed took 1 wicket each. Army is at the top with 7 points after winning its third win in 4 matches. Nepal Police Club and Madhesh Pradesh are at the second and third positions with 5 points each. 

Gandaki's unexpected win over APF

Gandaki defeated APF by 43 runs at Tallo Mulpani. This is Gandaki's first win in four matches. After suffering its second defeat in four matches, APF's hopes of making the finals have been dealt a major blow. 

Gandaki, who elected to bat after winning the toss, scored 150 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the shortened match in 21 overs. Opener Gaurav BK scored the highest 37 runs. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in 36 balls. Another opener Arjun Kumal scored 3 fours and 2 sixes in 20 balls. 

Deepak Dumre scored 34 runs in another useful innings. He hit 2 fours and 1 six in 27 balls. Sibrin Shrestha was out for zero, Dinesh Budhamagar for 19 and Sandesh Panthi for 3 runs. Captain Bipin Khatri remained unbeaten on 20 runs in 14 balls, hitting 1 six. APF's Avinash Bohra took 3 wickets. He spent 35 runs in 5 overs. Kamal Singh Airi, Yuvraj Khatri and Abhishek Gautam took 1 wicket each. 

In reply, APF was all out for 107 runs in 18.3 overs. Sibrin and Aparajit Poudel took 3 wickets each to destroy APF. Sibrin spent 25 runs in 4 overs and Player of the Match Aparajit took 31 runs in 5 overs. Subash Bhandari took 2 wickets in 2.3 overs for 7 runs and Kamal Pariyar took 1 wicket.
