The owners of the six teams competing in Nepal Kabaddi League Season 2 have been announced.
The owners of the franchise teams were announced at a program organized by the organizer Astronix Management on Saturday. National Investment Holding Pvt. Ltd. of former president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Bhavani Rana has taken over the Biratnagar team. The team has been renamed from Biratnagar Bandits to Biratnagar Bahubali. The ownership of the first edition champion Janakpur Knights remains with Neco Insurance. The ownership of the runner-up Kathmandu Mavericks has gone to Kathmandu Mavericks Pvt. Ltd.
Fewa Construction Pvt. Ltd. has taken over the Pokhara Lakers, while the Butwal Bulls are owned by Morai Corporation. The Butwal team, which competed in the first edition as Himalayan Raiders, has been changed to Butwal Bulls. Dhangadhi Wildcats Pvt. Ltd. has named the Far West representative team Dhangadhi Wildcats.
Amit Kumar Begani, Head of Astronics Management, expressed his happiness at being able to associate a business house with the popular NKL Kabaddi League in the country. He said that the second edition will be better than the first edition.
He said that the association of corporate houses will give the league more height and Nepali Kabaddi is a great effort in the world. The team owner was announced in the presence of Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Ruwanthi Delpitiya and All Nepal Kabaddi Association General Secretary Arvind Kumar Jha.
The second season of NKL, which was started in an effort to give a professional form to Nepali Kabaddi, will start from Jestha 22. For Season 2, domestic players have been selected for the players' draft, and more than 100 players from 15 countries have also registered their names.
