All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang on Friday demanded that the National Sports Council withdraw the three-month suspension imposed on his organization.

After the election general meeting scheduled for Chaitra 13 was postponed, ANFA organized a gathering at Hotel Mechi Crown instead. Earlier, ANFA's election committee had stated that the elections have been postponed until further notice following the suspension of the NSC.

The scheduled program was postponed after representatives of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) came to Nepal for the election, but they advised to postpone the election. These representatives have left Nepal after the election program was postponed. At the gathering, President Nembang said, "Our responsibility is to follow the laws of the country, our responsibility is to follow the statutes of FIFA. We must make laws that are consistent with the international supreme body of every sport."

President Nembang said that he is not in favor of creating a conflict with the government. He added, "After the current developments, the ball has gone to the government's court. The government has the final say on all ongoing disputes.' He accused the NFA of not cooperating with ANFA's programs and also said that the match against Hong Kong had to be postponed for the same reason.

Earlier in the program, General Secretary Kiran Rai said that after ANFA was suspended by the NFA, it is now the responsibility of the NFA to take Nepali football forward. He said, 'Now we are under suspension. The men's national team is going abroad for the match against Laos under the third round of the Asian Cup qualifiers. Similarly, the Nepali women's team is also going abroad for the FIFA series, now the NFA will have to make arrangements for that.'

He claimed that all kinds of football activities have taken place in the last four years of his tenure and expressed his dissatisfaction over the constant criticism that he was being subjected to. He added, 'Whatever happens now will be between FIFA and NFA. The decision on what will happen in Nepali football now will come from FIFA. We are not in favor of not following the country's rules and regulations.'
