English champions Liverpool announced on Tuesday that star player Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to his successful nine-year stay at the Merseyside club.
The 33-year-old Egyptian forward joined Anfield from Roma in 2017 for a fee of £34m. He has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances for the Reds so far.
Liverpool said on their website: “Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025-2026 season.” Salah also played for Chelsea in the Premier League, but his stay there was not a happy one.
Salah signed a two-year contract with Liverpool in 2025, but will leave the club on a free transfer by mutual consent between the two parties. He won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup and two League Cups for Liverpool.
