The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) was suspended by the National Sports Council (NSC) on Wednesday.

After failing to comply with repeated instructions to stop the election, the NSC Executive Board decided to suspend the ANFA leadership based on Article 29 (2) of the Sports Development Regulations 2077 BS.

With this decision, Pankaj Bikram Nembang, the ANFA leadership, has been suspended for 3 months. ANFA was in the process of conducting early elections in Jhapa on Chaitra 13. Recently, NSC had demanded a 24-hour explanation. ANFA had sent a reply to NSC stating that 'early elections' fall within its authority and that the elections will not be stopped under any circumstances.
