Nepal Police Club and Bagmati Province won the Prime Minister's Cup Men's National Cricket Tournament on Tuesday. Defending champions Police defeated departmental rivals Nepal APF Club by 185 runs and Bagmati defeated Gandaki Province by 170 runs. 

Despite losing to Tribhuvan Army Club by 4 wickets in the first match, the Police team managed to maintain the momentum of winning the title for the third consecutive time at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground with an impressive performance. After losing the toss, the Police team, who came in to bat, scored 355 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. 

Even though opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 4 runs, Shankar Rana, captain Arif Sheikh and Dilshad Ali along with another opener Dinesh Kharel scored half-centuries. Dinesh scored 60 runs in 52 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes, Shankar scored 61 runs in 54 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes, and Arif scored 50 runs in 42 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Dilshad remained unbeaten on 51 runs off 30 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. 

Amit Shrestha scored 39 runs off 39 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes, Rashid Khan scored 44 runs off 42 balls with 3 fours and a six, Gulshan Jha scored 23 runs off 28 balls with 1 four and a six. Karan KC scored 6 runs. APF's Kamal Singh Airi scored 63 runs off 10 overs with 1 maiden and Amar Singh Rautela took 2 wickets each for 43 runs in 5 overs. Nandan Yadav, captain Rohit Poudel and Yuvraj Khatri took 1 wicket each. 

Nandan and Kamal added 49 runs for the ninth wicket, but APF was all out for 170 runs in 44 overs. Nandan, who batted at number nine, remained unbeaten on 44 runs off 55 balls with 3 fours and a six. Kamal scored 35 runs in 32 balls, hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. Deepak Bohra 4, Asif Sheikh 18, Rohit 11, Sandeep 24, Pooran BK 20, Yuvraj and Kamal 1-1 and Lokesh Bam were out for 2 runs. 

Lalit Rajbanshi took 3 wickets for Police. He took 28 runs in 10 overs with 1 maiden. Karan took 21 runs in 8 overs with 3 maidens, Rashid took 49 runs in 9 overs with 1 maiden and Player of the Match Dinesh took 2 wickets in 8 overs with 36 runs. Sagar Dhakal had 1 wicket. 

Bagmati's first win

Inspired by the half-centuries of openers Ashutosh Ghiraiya and Ishan Pandey, Bagmati Province batted first at the lower ground in Mulpani and scored 294 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 8 wickets. In reply, Gandaki Province was all out for 124 runs in 32 overs. 

Player of the Match Ishan scored 71 runs in 61 balls. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. Ashutosh scored 59 runs in 87 balls with 9 fours. Ashutosh and Shubh Kansakar added 64 runs for the first wicket in 9 overs. Shubh scored 44 runs in 28 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

Shivam Tiwari scored 18, Pawan Thapa scored 4, Uttam Thapa Magar scored 30 runs in 47 balls with 1 four, Vivek Rana Magar scored 27 runs in 16 balls with 2 sixes. Captain Sandeep Lamichhane remained unbeaten on 26 runs in 17 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Subash Khatri was dismissed for 5 runs. Kamal Pariyar of Gandaki took 2 wickets for 56 runs in 10 overs, while Bipin Khatri, Ankit Neupane, Sibrin Shrestha and Subash Bhandari took 1 wicket each.

Opener Arjun Kumal scored 74 runs, but Gandaki was all out cheaply. Arjun hit 11 fours in 90 balls. Another player who scored double scores was Subash. He scored 29 runs in 48 balls, including 1 four and a six. Opener Gaurav Bik, Vansh Chhetri, Sibrin, Dinesh Budhamagar and Kamal were out without opening their accounts, while Deepak Dumre, captain Bipin Khatri and Krishna Poudel managed to score only 2 runs each. 

Bagmati's Region Dhakal took 3 wickets. He spent 31 runs in 8 overs, including 2 maidens. Sandeep spent 31 runs in 9.5 overs, including 1 maiden, and Ishan took 2 wickets in 3 overs, spending 6 runs, while Dayanand Mandal and Subash took 1 wicket each. On Wednesday, Karnali and Koshi Pradesh will play in Janakpur, and Madhesh Pradesh and Sudurpaschim will play in Birgunj.
