A-Division club Sankata has said that its club has suffered financial losses after the men's national league and women's Martyr's Memorial League were postponed.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) had postponed both competitions following a dispute over the work permits of foreign players. At a press conference on Monday, Sankata Club said that despite their continuous efforts to develop football, they have been treated unfairly by the regulatory body. The situation became complicated as foreign players without work permits were not allowed to play in both leagues.
The Immigration Department had made it mandatory for foreign players to play with work permits. However, Sankata has claimed that although it completed the process on its part for the work permits of foreign players on time, nothing has been done. Sankata President Indraman Tuladhar informed that they will wait for two weeks and if the league does not start in the meantime, they will be forced to send the foreign players home.
