The Nepal Prisoners' Aid Mission (PAM) and MMAC have won the team champion trophy at the NECOS 8th International Judo Competition. PAM won the junior and MMAC cadet championships.

PAM won 4 gold and 1 silver in the competition held at the Kendra (MMAC). Bangladesh Krira Shikha Pratishthan came second with 2 gold and Dang Judo Dojo came third with 1 gold and 3 silver.

In the cadet competition organized by the National Judo Association Nepal under the Nepal Sports Federation (NECOS), team champion MMAC won 6 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze. PAM came second with 5 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze. Pelkhil Dojo Club Bhutan, which came third, won 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze.

The top three finishers in both the junior cadets received cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

In the junior men's competition, which was sponsored by B&T Trading Company Limited (Hokkaido, Japan), Sabin Kumar Diyali of PAM and Fabiha Busra of Bangladesh were selected as the best players.

In the cadet men's competition, Prince BK of MMAC and Tandin Dorji Wangmo of Bhutan were selected as the best players. The top four gold winners of their respective events received a prize of Rs 5,000 each. Kaviram Gharti Magar was the best judge.

On the last day, the finals of 9 events were held in the junior category. Shiva Baraili of MMAC in the men's under 55 kg category, Dipesh Gurung of PAM in the men's under 66 kg category, Raysan Basnet in the men's under 81 kg category, Vigyan T Khatri of Gandaki Judo in the men's under 90 kg category, Sabin Kumar Diyali of PAM in the men's under 60 kg category and Shahin Ahmed of Bangladesh Krira in the men's under 73 kg category won gold. Rama Samat of PAM in the women's under 44 kg category, Nisha Shrestha of PAM in the under 52 kg category, and Fabiha Busra of Bangladesh in the over 70 kg category won first place.

Khadga Bahadur Dahal, one of the founders of judo, was honored with a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
