Earlier, ANFA had issued a press release stating that the match scheduled to be held at Dasharath Stadium has now been postponed. Otherwise, the match should have been held on Chaitra 12. ANFA had said that through a letter dated Falgun 10, we had sought approval from the NSC for the stadium and its playing field for the friendly match.

On Chaitra 3, we had sent a letter to provide the stadium's floodlights, scoreboard and other infrastructure for the match. However, since NSC did not grant ANFA's request and approval to conduct the match, the match has been postponed. Immediately after that, NSC also made public two letters it had written to ANFA. One of them, written on Chaitra 3, said that Rs 45,000 should be deposited in its National Commercial Bank for floodlights, sound system, scoreboard and other infrastructure.

Similarly, in a letter written on Chaitra 5, NSC had requested that the estimated budget details for the competition not be received. In that process, NSC had also put forward some conditions for providing the stadium. A source from the NSC said that ANFA has been embroiled in controversy after failing to run football in the country and is now trying to shift the focus by postponing the match against Hong Kong and blaming the government for it.

Amidst the early election controversy of ANFA, the clash between ANFA and the National Sports Council, and the postponement of the men's national league and the women's Martyrs' Memorial League, the match against Hong Kong will not even take place.

ANFA's response to NSC

ANFA wrote a letter to the National Sports Council (NSC) on Sunday, stating that it cannot stop the elections to be held on Chaitra 13.

NSC had earlier written a letter on Thursday asking it to postpone the elections and provide a written response within three days. However, ANFA not only said that it cannot stop the elections, it has also requested NSC to help conduct the elections smoothly. ANFA has also claimed that the upcoming elections are not against its statute and that FIFA and AFC will ban Nepal if the program is not held on time.
