The defeat kept the relegation pressure on Torino, who are in 14th place with 33 points. Milan's result means they have 63 points. Inter, who have played one game less, are top with 68 points. Juventus and Sassuolo drew 1-1 in the other match.
Juventus are in fifth place with 54 points. Inter now face Fiorentina on Sunday and a win will further increase their lead.
