Keshavalal Shrestha Memorial Foundation and New Diamond Club won the match of the National Women's Volleyball Tournament being held at TCN Chaur, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-10 on Thursday.

In the first match, Keshavalal Shrestha Memorial Foundation defeated Janshakti Yuva Club Madhesh Pradesh in straight sets of 3-0. The foundation won 25-10, 25-10 and 25-13 in the process of defeating Madhesh Pradesh. In the second match, Makawanpur District Volleyball Association was defeated by New Diamond Club. Diamond defeated Makawanpur Volleyball Association in straight sets of 3-0. Diamond lost in sets of 25-6, 25-6 and 25-11.

Makawanpur was also defeated by Lumbini Province's Step Volleyball Team in the inaugural match. With this, Makawanpur has been eliminated from the match. The first match of the ongoing competition will be between New Diamond Club and Step Volleyball Club on Friday. The second match will be played between Keshav Lal Shrestha Memorial Foundation and Bright Future Sport Club. The National Women's Volleyball Competition started on Wednesday as part of the ongoing Sports, Agriculture and Tourism Festival organized by the Makwanpur District Sports Development Committee. Six teams are participating in the competition. The six participating teams have been divided into two groups. The winner and runner-up of the group will enter the knockout stage. The winning team of the competition, which will be held until Chaitra 8, will receive Rs 300,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 200,000. The organizers have informed that the two teams that lose in the semi-finals will receive Rs 50,000 each. The best player of the competition will receive Rs 15,000 and the best players in other disciplines will receive cash, trophies and certificates, said Rajkumar Moktan, chairman of the Makwanpur District Sports Development Committee.

The district-level badminton competition, district-level women's and men's 10-kilometer running competition, district-level men's volleyball competition, and district-level karate competition have already been held under the festival. A national taekwondo competition will be organized from Chaitra 11 to 13.
