The third Bagmati Province Sports Competition is scheduled to be held in the last week of Jestha 2083. The 24th board meeting of the Province Sports Development Council, Bagmati Province held in Kathmandu on Wednesday decided to organize the third Bagmati Province Sports Competition from Jestha 24 to 30. The meeting also decided to organize the first Bagmati Para Games.
The meeting decided to hold the Bagmati Province-level President's Running Shield from Jestha 1 to 3, informed Deepak Lama, Member-Secretary of the Province Sports Development Council, Bagmati. The meeting also decided to establish a sports museum.
The third Bagmati Province Games will feature 15 sports including football, volleyball, karate, ITF Taekwondo, Taekwondo, Wushu, Judo, Full-Contact Karate, Cricket, Badminton, Boxing, Athletics, Intelligence, Swimming and Table Tennis. 2,955 players will compete in the competition.
360 players will compete in football, while 40 coaches and managers and 20 judges will be mobilized. 312 in volleyball, 218 in karate, 218 in ITF, 262 in taekwondo, 159 in wushu, 138 in judo, 130 in full-contact karate, 224 in cricket, 78 in badminton, 170 in boxing, 455 in athletics, 78 in intelligence, 75 in swimming and 78 in table tennis will compete. Member-Secretary Lama said that Rs 132 million has been allocated for the third Bagmati Province Games.
It is said that 1,222 players from karate, volleyball, taekwondo, wushu, kabaddi and athletics will compete in the President's Running Shield.
