Lalitpur district is set to play the final of the Prime Minister's Cup Bagmati Province Men's Regional Cricket Tournament with Kathmandu. In the last match of the round-robin league on Monday, Lalitpur defeated Makawanpur by 92 runs. 

After 7 teams, including 6 from Bagmati Province and Tribhuvan University (TU), competed in the round-robin league, the top two teams were scheduled to play in the final. Kathmandu won all 6 matches, while Lalitpur won 5 matches and lost 1. The final will be held on Tuesday. Bhaktapur won 4, Chitwan 3, Makawanpur 2 and Nuwakot won 1 match. TU suffered defeat in all 6 matches. 

After Vivek Rana Magar scored an unbeaten 149 runs at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday, Lalitpur won the toss and scored 337 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Player of the Match Vivek hit 13 fours and 12 sixes in 90 balls. He shared a 179-run partnership with Sachin Lekhak for the fourth wicket. Sachin scored 71 runs off 90 balls, including 7 fours. 

Opener Ronim Tiwari scored 63 runs off 65 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six. Aryanjung Chhetri was out for 5 and Adil Khan for 23. Makwanpur's Rijan Dhakal, Takshak Simkhada and Shubh Kansakar took 1 wicket each. 

Despite Shubh's 86 runs, Makwanpur were all out for 245 runs in 39.2 overs in reply. Shubh hit 9 fours and 5 sixes off 49 balls. Takshak was out for 35 off 52 balls, including 5 fours, Vishal Phuyal 26, Yubin Budhathoki 25 and Gokul Adhikari 20. Lalitpur's Surya Tamang took 3 wickets. He had spent 51 runs in 8.2 overs. Tilak Raj Bhandari, Bipin Acharya and Vivek took 2-2 and Saditya Banjara took 1 wicket. 

Kathmandu, which had already reached the final, defeated the Tribhuvan University team by 182 runs at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground. After Rit Gautam scored 158 runs, Kathmandu won the toss and scored 352 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Opener Rit hit 12 fours and 6 sixes in 149 balls. Sonu Devkota hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in 53 balls for 49, Uttam Thapa Magar 36, Pratish GC 27 and Samrat Shah were out for 12 runs. Captain Ishan Pandey scored an unbeaten 32 runs in 10 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Tribhuvan University's Sumit Jha took 3 wickets and Dinesh Thapa, Lokendra Timilsina and Suraj Tiruwa took 1 wicket each.

Tribhuvan University was all out for 170 runs in 37.3 overs. Suraj scored 44, Naveen Rawal scored 34, Ashok Sunar and Lokendra scored 24 each and Sanjiv Manandhar scored 13 not out. Sonu from Kathmandu took 4 wickets for 52 runs in 10 overs, Dayanand Mandal took 3 wickets for 43 runs in 10 overs and Ishan took 1 wicket.

Bhaktapur's consolation win

Bhaktapur defeated Chitwan by 6 wickets on Monday. Chitwan, who won the toss, were all out for 118 runs in 32 overs at Tallo Mulpani. Captain Gautam KC scored the highest 21 runs. 

Arya Mahato and Pratik Shrestha  each scored 15, Sugam Dhungana scored 13, Krijan Gurung scored 12 and Prashant Mahat and Pawan Bahadur Thapa scored 10 runs each. Dipesh Shrestha remained unbeaten on 11 runs. 

Avinash Basyal took 4 wickets from Bhaktapur. He was named Player of the Match for only 30 runs in 10 overs. Active Pratap Karki, Subash Khatri and captain Chris Karki took 2 wickets each. 

In reply, Bhaktapur scored 120 runs in 18.4 overs. Shivam Tiwari scored 31, Saurabh Sakkarmi scored 26, Vishal Devkota scored 23 not out, Ringjin Lama scored 13 and Chris scored 12 not out. Chitwan's Dipesh took 2 wickets and Mandeep Baral and Pawan took 1 wicket each.
