The title of the Makawanpur district level volleyball tournament has been won by Mangelshor Youth Club of Thaha Municipality-2.
Mangelshor Youth Club won the title by defeating Chhahari Youth Society of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11 by 3-0 in the final match held on Tuesday at the Sports, Agriculture and Tourism Festival venue. The tournament was organized by the District Sports Committee.
Mangelshor defeated Chhahari Youth Society by 27-25, 25-20 and 25-16. Along with winning the title, the Mangelshor Youth Club team received Rs 100,000 along with a shield, medal and certificate.
The runner-up Chhahari Youth Society team had to settle for Rs 50,000 and a shield, medal. The two teams that reached the semi-finals, Pratibha Sanskriti Youth Club Bajrabarahi and Manahari, received medals along with Rs 15,000 each. Eight teams participated in the tournament, which was managed by the Makawanpur District Volleyball Association.
Kushal Lama of Mangleshwor, who was declared the best player of the tournament, received a cash prize of Rs 5,000. Vivek Karki of Mangleshwor, who was declared the best defender, Pujan Gurung of Chhahari Youth Society, Utsav Ale Magar of Mangleshwor Youth Club, who was declared the best setter, Pravesh Karki of Mangleshwor Youth Club, who was declared the best blocker, Yog Bahadur Lama of Chhahari Youth Society, and Joshan Gautam of Manhari, who was declared the best coach, were awarded Rs 2,000 each.
