Lalitpur district has won the Prime Minister's Cup Bagmati Province Men's Regional Cricket Tournament by defeating its nearest rival Kathmandu by 6 wickets. Lalitpur gave Kathmandu no chance in the final held at the Lower Mulpani Ground on Tuesday.

Kathmandu had defeated Lalitpur by 79 runs on Saturday in the round-robin league match to secure a place in the final. However, Lalitpur took revenge and scored a hat-trick of titles at the Bagmati Province level. The seven participating teams, including 6 from Bagmati and Tribhuvan University (TU), competed in the round-robin league and finished in the top two.

Kathmandu, who elected to bat after winning the toss, was all out for 210 runs in 48.4 overs. Surya Tamang, Vivek Rana Magar, Sachin Lekhak took 2-2 wickets and Pankaj Pandey and Tilak Raj Bhandari took 1-1 wickets to prevent Kathmandu from scoring a big score.

Captain Ishan Pandey top-scored for Kathmandu with 44 runs. He hit 3 fours and 1 six in 60 balls. Sachin stumped him to give Lalitpur a crucial win. Opener Rabin Joshi was dismissed for 5 runs while his opening partner Rit Gautam added 42 runs. Rit hit 4 fours in 65 balls.

Samrat Shah made 29 off 58 balls with 2 sixes, Uttam Thapa Magar made 5, Sonu Devkota made 23 off 37 balls with 2 sixes, Pratish GC made 22 off 16 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, Upendra Khatri made 12, Dhiraj Deuba made 2 and Dayanand Mandal made 1 run. Sandeep Parajuli remained unbeaten on 4 runs.

Lalitpur achieved the target in 38.3 overs after Vivek and Sachin scored half-centuries. Ashutosh Ghiraiya scored 13, Ronim Tiwari scored 32 off 35 balls with 4 fours and 1 six, and Adil Khan scored 17. Sachin, who was dismissed for a big shot when the score was tied, scored 63. He hit 8 fours and 1 six off 77 balls.

Player of the Final Vivek scored an unbeaten 73 off 80 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Bipin Acharya remained unbeaten on 1 run. Kathmandu's Sandeep Parajuli took 2 wickets for 25 runs in 7.3 overs, while Ishan and Dhiraj took 1 wicket each.

Vivek was adjudged the best batsman and player of the series. He had scored 507 runs and taken 12 wickets in 7 matches throughout the tournament. Dayanand of Kathmandu was adjudged the best bowler. The winning players were awarded by Bagmati Province Cricket Association President Paras Khadka and others.
