Advocate Sadiksha Acharya has won the second edition of the Himalayan Queens Gambit. She achieved success by scoring 6.5 points in the match held at Thapathali Chess Park on Sunday, remaining undefeated.
In the blitz chess tournament conducted on the basis of the Swiss league system, Sonalika Saraf also scored 6.5 points, the same as Sadiksha. Despite the equal points, Sadiksha won the title on the basis of tiebreaker. Precious Adhikari and Shubhashree Shrestha also scored 6 points. However, Precious came third, leading on the basis of tiebreaker.
Prakriti Neupane (5.5 points), Asmita Dahal (5.5), Meghna Adhikari (5) and Aarti Rai (5) finished in the top eight and won medals. Similarly, Ruthvi Singh (4 points) in U-7, Sangeeta Das (4.5) in U-10, Supriya Khatri (5) in U-13, Grishma Poudel (5) in U-16 and Shivangi Nath (5 points) in the above 40 years of age stood first.

The FIDE Women's Commission for Chess of the World Chess Federation is conducting the FIDE Women's Chess Marathon in March, and under it, the Himalayan Chess Academy organized the Himalayan Queen's Gambit in Nepal, in which 103 players aged 6 to 47 years participated. The Himalayan Chess Academy, which celebrated its second anniversary on Saturday at the Royal Singhi Hotel, has successfully organized a total of 14 competitions including Queen's Gambit, Classical, Rapid, Blitz and Puzzle Solving.
The winners were awarded trophies, medals and prizes by the founder of the Himalayan Chess Academy, Monalisa Khambu, and the president of the Koshi Province Intellectual Association, Surendra Kumar Rai.
