Sunsari and Morang have made a winning start in the Koshi selection of the Prime Minister's Cup Men's National Cricket Tournament. Sunsari defeated Ilam by 6 wickets in the opening match held in Itahari under the provincial selection starting on Friday. The match was shortened to 26 overs due to a damp pitch at the Janata Cricket Ground in Itahari.

Ilam, who batted first, lost all their wickets after scoring 138 runs in 25.3 balls. For Ilam, Lob Kamat top-scored with 41 runs while Sumit Sharma scored 37 not out and Sandeep Dhungana and Shivans Bajgain added 15 runs each. Sunsari's substitute Acharya took 5 wickets and Kaviraj Khatri took 2 wickets.

Sunsari, who batted in reply with a target of 139 runs, finished the match losing 4 wickets in 22.1 balls. In Sunsari's win, Akash Saraf played a half-century innings.
