Pratik's all-round performance
Pratik Shrestha's all-round performance helped Chitwan defeat Tribhuvan University (TRI) by 211 runs at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. This is Chitwan's second victory in three matches.
After Pawan Bahadur Thapa's strong batting performance, Chitwan won the toss and elected to bat and were all out for 267 runs in 43 overs. In reply, TRI was all out for 56 runs in 26.1 overs. This is Tribhuvan's third consecutive defeat. After Pawan, who had scored a century and a half-century in the previous two matches, scored 79 runs, Chitwan made a strong score. He hit 7 fours in 73 balls.
Opener Prashant Mahat played with a batting-based approach and scored 44 runs, hitting 8 fours. Krijan Gurung scored 35 off 31 balls with 6 fours, Prateek scored 25 off 25 balls with 3 fours, captain Gautam KC and Dipesh Shrestha scored 20 each, Arya Mahato scored 13 and Roshan Jha scored 12 runs. Makawanpur's first win
Opener Shubha Kansakar and captain Suman Sunar scored centuries to secure Makawanpur's first win in the qualifiers. Makawanpur defeated Nuwakot by 279 runs in the Upper Mulpani.
After Shubha scored 122 and Suman scored 110 runs, Makawanpur won the toss and elected to bat. They scored a huge total of 366 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 9 wickets. Shubha hit 13 fours and 8 sixes in 74 balls and Suman hit 8 fours and 5 sixes in 98 balls. Shubha shared a partnership of 104 for the first wicket with Yubin Budhathoki and 96 for the second wicket with Suman.
Yubin scored 31 runs in 44 balls, including 4 fours. Saksham Bastakoti scored 46 runs in 50 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes. Vishal Phuyal was out for 15 runs. Nuwakot's Ishan Pali and Bidhan Khatiwada took 2-2 wickets and Ganesh Gautam, Roshan Bik and Yogesh Bhat Chhetri took 1-1 wickets.
Nuwakot was all out for 87 runs in 26.3 overs. Manjit Thapaliya 24, Yogash 15, captain Rajesh Rimal 13 and Dinesh Subedi 10 were out.
