The ICC World Cup League 2 series to be hosted by Nepal has been postponed due to the crisis in the Middle East, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) said on Wednesday. Nepal was scheduled to host the World Cup League 2 series involving the UAE and Oman from March 10 as per the schedule.

However, in the context of the tense situation in the Middle East due to Iran's recent retaliatory attacks on countries including the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, CAN has announced that the League 2 series has been postponed until further notice.

Nepal had already announced a 20-member preliminary squad for League 2 under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel and the Nepali team was in closed training. Oman, which has played 20 matches in the eight-nation tournament, is in fourth place with 24 points, Nepal is seventh with 12 points and UAE is eighth with 10 points.

Nepal is in the process of hosting another League 2 series involving the USA and Scotland in May.
