SPA College has honored two cricketers from the Far West who represented the Nepali national team in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup with cash.
Cricketers Lokesh Bam and Sher Malla were presented with the ‘SPA Samman’ along with Rs 1 lakh 1 thousand each on the occasion of the college’s 27th anniversary on Friday.
Educationist Dr. Hemraj Pant and the college’s Managing Director Subash Shahi honored them by covering them with dosallas. Lokesh is a student of the college and a Sher brand ambassador.
Both the players’ performances in the World Cup were remarkable. Lokesh played an innings of 39 runs in 20 balls against England, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes, bringing Nepal closer to victory. Sher Malla took a wicket in the first ball of his international debut match.
Lokesh shared his experience of moving forward with discipline and hard work while studying at SPA College. He advised the students to remain dedicated to their goals. Lokesh's mother expressed pride in her son's achievement and thanked the college family. SPA College currently has more than two dozen national and international cricket players. The college has stated that it has been awarding the 'SPA Samman' to individuals who have contributed to the society and the nation through their abilities.
