New Horizon College has won the district-level inter-college SAI Global Cup T-20 cricket title. New Horizon won the title by defeating Nepathya College by 44 runs in the final held in Bhairahawa.
Along with the title, New Horizon received Rs 55,555, a trophy, a medal and a certificate. Nepathya, who was satisfied with the runner-up position, received Rs 25,555, a trophy, a medal and a certificate.
In the final held at the Siddhartha Cricket Ground, New Horizon, who won the toss and elected to bat, scored 114 runs in 19 overs and 5 balls, losing all their wickets. For them, Arif Khan scored 35, Mahesh Bhar 24, Prince Pal 16 and Amar Mishra scored 12 runs. In the bowling, Nepathya's Pravin Dhakal took 3, Laxman Kumal 2 and Roshan Bashyal, Sandeep Yadav, Arif Khan and Pratik Bhattarai took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Nepathya scored 70 runs in 17 overs and 4 balls, losing all their wickets. In bowling, New Horizon's Shubham Pandey took 4 wickets, Viprashan KC 3 wickets, and Mahesh Bhar, Prince Pal, and Shubham Khanal took 1 wicket each. Similarly, Prajwal Thapa of Kalika, Butwal, was declared the best batter and Ashutosh Pandey of Paramount College was declared the best bowler. They each received Rs. 5,000. Similarly, Bhairahawa Namuna College succeeded in becoming a disciplined team in the competition.
