Angels Heart and Kathmandu Vidyakunj Secondary (KVKSS) have won the first Tejaswi Cup inter-school basketball tournament. On Friday, Angels Heart boys and KVKSS girls became champions.
In the boys' final held at the host Tejaswi Academy, Angels Heart defeated White Haven Academy by a score of 37-33. The winner's Rupesh Poudel scored 24 points. Himalaya Boarding School defeated Sanskriti Shiksha Sadan by a score of 48-27 to secure third place. Himalaya's Arun Karki scored 23 points.
In the girls' final, Kathmandu Vidyakunj defeated the host Tejaswi by a score of 25-14. The winner's Muskan Mifok scored 8 points. In the third-place match, Belmont defeated Mansingh by 15-12. Belmont's Christina Ghimire scored 9 points.
In the boys' final, Angels Heart's Rupesh Poudel and in the girls' final, KVKSS's Rosie Shrestha were declared the 'Most Valuable Players'. In boys, Rahul Sunar of White Haven and Kristina Ghimire of Belmont were selected as the best three-pointer.
In boys, Arun Karki of Himalaya and Esther Baruwal of Tejaswi were the top scorers. In boys, Siddhartha Model School and Angels Heart National School won the Fair Play Trophy.
The winners were awarded by basketball coach Purna Neupane, Tejaswi founding principal Thir Bahadur Basnet, managing director Rajkumar KC and vice principal Bishwa Pandey.
