Unilever Nepal has announced a support of Rs 1.5 million for the treatment and rehabilitation of Savitra Bhandari ‘Samba’.
Savitra, the captain of the Nepali national women’s football team, is suffering from a serious knee injury. Samba, one of the inspirational players of Nepali football, has been inspiring millions of people not only across the country but also outside Nepal, and Unilever has supported her on her journey to recovery.
Dove expressed confidence that she will transform her setback into a comeback, saying, ‘True beauty is born from self-respect and confidence, and true courage is not only seen in victory, but in the determination to heal the wound and come back stronger.’
Savitra had appealed for the necessary $80,000 through social media on Monday for ACL surgery on her injured knee. She had requested to stop the support as the necessary expenses were not met within 24 hours. Individuals and various organizations from home and abroad provided support for him.
