Kalika Manavgyan and Nepathya College entered the semi-finals of the district-level inter-college SAI Global Cup Twenty20 Cricket being held here on Tuesday.
In the matches held at Siddhartha Cricket Ground on Tuesday, Kalika Manavgyan defeated Shanti Namuna by 9 wickets and Nepathya defeated Horizon GVS by 9 wickets to book their place in the semi-finals.
Shanti Namuna, who came out to bat after winning the toss, could only score 67 runs in 14 overs and 4 balls, losing all their wickets. To stop them cheaply, Kalika Manavgyan's Thaneshwor Bhattarai took 6 wickets, Vishal Bhusal took 3 wickets and Prajwal Thapa took 1 wicket. Shanti Namuna's Rudrans Bhattarai scored 19 runs, Raunak Srivastava 15 runs and Rojan Kumal scored 11 runs, but the other batsmen could not score double figures.
In reply, Kalika Manavgyan scored 70 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 7 overs and won easily. Prajwal Thapa played a half-century of 52 runs in their victory. Shanti Namuna's Raunak Srivastava took 1 wicket in the bowling. Thaneshwor Bhattarai was named Player of the Match in the match and received Rs. 1,000.
