Shanti Namuna Secondary School and Nepathya College won the district-level inter-college SAI Global Cup Twenty20 tournament being held here on Sunday. 

Sai Global, who won the toss and elected to bat at the Siddhartha Cricket Ground, scored 82 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Jaya Pratap Yadav scored 26 and Ejazul Haque scored 23 runs. Shanti Namuna's Rohit Bhusal, Sujan Ranabhat and Raunak Srivastava took 2-2 and Nitish Thakur took 1 wicket. 

In reply, Shanti Namuna scored 85 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 15 overs and won the match. Raunak Srivastava scored 28, Naveen Bhandari scored 18 and Rudrans Bhandari and Sujan Ranabhat contributed 14-14 runs each in their victory. Sai Global's Lekh Chhetri took 2 wickets and Dros Sonar and Jaya Pratap Yadav took 1 wicket each. 

In the second match, Nepathya won the toss and batted and scored 122 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Sandeep Yadav scored 51, Jasim Khan scored 28 and Prateek Bhattarai scored 10 runs for them. In the bowling, Rupandehi Leelaram's Kalam Musalman and Karan Yadav took 2-2 and Ijamun Ahmed Musalman took 1 wicket. 

In reply, Rupandehi Leelaram was bundled out for 100 runs after losing all their wickets in 17 overs and 4 balls. To stop Leelaram cheaply, Nepathya's Arif Khan and Sandeep Yadav took 3-3 and Ganesh Dhital took 1 wicket. Leelaram's Harikesh Maurya scored 31 and Kalam Musalman scored 25 runs. Sandeep Yadav was declared the player of the match in the match and received Rs 1,000.

Sports coordinator Niraj Pratap Khan said that 20 different colleges of the district are participating in the competition that will run until Falgun 14. The winning team of the competition will receive Rs 55,555 and the runner-up will receive Rs 25,555 in cash, a trophy, medal and certificate.
