Mansingh and Belmont have made a winning start to the girls' side of the first Tejaswi Cup Inter-School Basketball Tournament.

In the match held at the host Tejaswi Academy's court on Sunday, Mansingh defeated White Haven by a score of 16-10. Mansingh's Devika Bogati added 6 points. Belmont defeated Angels Heart National by 22-16 with Sumina Tamang's 10 points. In the

girls' event, Tejaswi defeated Sanskriti Shikshalaya 23-18 and Landmark Academy defeated White Haven by a score of 25-15. Tejaswi's Nisha Pandit scored 14 and Landmark's Anjali Rai scored 11. In the

boys' event, SEB defeated Landmark 44-31, Tejaswi defeated Gurukul 37-28, Sanskriti Shikshalay defeated Rosemary 40-32 and White Haven defeated Siddharth 30-22. SEB's Yubin Tamang scored 10, Tejaswi's Biraj Gurung scored 13, Sanskriti's Raman Gurung scored 19 and White Haven's Nimesh Sapkota scored 14.

The tournament was inaugurated by Tejaswi Principal Thir Bahadur Basnet, who handed over the ball to the judges. There are 12 teams competing in the boys' and 8 teams competing in the girls' tournament, which is a 6-day league-cum-knockout tournament.
