Kathmandu Gorkhas Executive Director Anubhav Sirohiya and Thunderbolts Development Center Executive Director Varun Khadka signed an agreement on Friday to establish the academy.
Kathmandu Gorkhas and Thunderbolts Development Center are jointly establishing the Kathmandu Gorkhas Cricket Academy.
Kathmandu Gorkhaz Executive Director Anubhav Sirohiya and Thunderbolts Executive Director Varun Khadka signed an agreement on Friday to establish the academy.
The establishment of the academy is also an important collaboration in the development journey of Nepali cricket. The collaboration will help Nepali cricket move forward professionally and will also provide opportunities and guidance to young Nepali cricket players. At least two players from the academy will be included in Kathmandu Gorkhaz's NPL team.
According to the agreement, Thunderbolts will take responsibility for the infrastructure, academy management and operation. Kathmandu Gorkhaz will help in taking the coaches and players to the highest level. The academy is located in Dhapakhel, Lalitpur and it will start the process of recruiting players from Baisakh 2083. At the agreement ceremony, Kathmandu Gorkhaz CEO Suraj Singh Thakuri said that the aim of the academy is to produce expert players.
He said, ‘Our sole objective is to contribute to the development of Nepali cricket. If the players produced by our academy represent Nepal, it will be the happiest opportunity for us.’ Therefore, this academy aims to produce excellent players and will also scientifically plan the program accordingly.’
