Shubhangi won the gold medal in the women's under 62 kg final at the competition being held at the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor by defeating Nepal's Sushmita Moktan.

Shubhangi wins gold in Mount Everest Taekwondo

Nepal's Shubhangi Shrestha won gold at the 4th Mount Everest International Taekwondo Championship (WT G-1) and the 2nd Mount Everest GCS International Poomsae Championship on Tuesday.

Shubhangi won the gold medal in the women's under 62 kg final at the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.

India's Ankit, Nitesh Singh and Akshay Hooda won the gold medal in the men's under 64 kg, and the first South Asian Taekwondo tournament will be held in Bhutan's capital Thimphu this year.

The first South Asian Taekwondo tournament will be held in the Kathmandu meeting of the South Asian Taekwondo Union.

The union held a meeting on Monday night on the occasion of the fourth Mount Everest International Taekwondo tournament being held in Kathmandu. The meeting, chaired by the union's president, Umar Saeed of Pakistan, decided to start a South Asian-level Taekwondo tournament and hold the first edition in Bhutan.

The meeting decided to establish an aid fund by collecting annual donations from member countries, prepare a logo for the union, organize various programs for the development and expansion of taekwondo in the South Asian region, and conduct various programs for the rights and interests of players and the development of the profession of coaches.

Taekwondo officials from Nepal, India, Bhutan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh participated in the meeting.
