Gandaki Province achieved a double victory in the second national hockey tournament on Monday. Gandaki won both the men's and women's categories.

In the women's category, Gandaki defeated Bagmati Pradesh by 4-0 goals at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor. Gandaki's Player of the Match Ankita Adhikari scored 2 goals, while Geeta Pun Magar and Sitamaya Bal scored 1-1 goals.

In the men's category, Gandaki defeated Koshi Pradesh by 2-0 goals. Both goals were scored by Player of the Match Asim Bahik.

In the women's category, Madhesh Pradesh defeated Koshi by 1-0 goals. Preeti Das scored the decisive goal. Laxmi Kumari Das became the player of the match.

The tournament being organized by the Nepal Hockey Association was inaugurated by National Sports Council Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta.

Six teams are participating in the men's category and five in the women's category. The top three teams in both groups will receive cash prizes of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively, informed the association's secretary Subarna Shrestha.
