Baluwatar Cricket Club has won the 11th edition of the Pakistan-Nepal Friendship Twenty20 Cricket Tournament 2026.
Baluwatar won the title by defeating the Pakistan Embassy team by 4 wickets in the final of the tournament held at the Pakistan Embassy plot in Kathmandu.
Batting first, the Pakistani team scored 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sarbocha scored 43, Nischal scored 23 and Candy scored 21 runs. Dhiraj, Sagar, Jeevan and Ganesh of Baluwatar took 2 wickets each.
Baluwatar scored 152 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18.5 overs. Karan scored 35, Vishal scored 32 and Jamal scored 22 runs. Nischal and Bhupendra of the embassy took 2 wickets each.
The Pakistan Embassy team and 12 teams from various clubs in Nepal participated in the tournament held from February 7 to 15. The Pakistani Embassy has been organizing this program annually since 2014 to showcase the passion and talent of the youth of Pakistan and Nepal for cricket.
Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi and others presented trophies and cash prizes to the winning team and best players. Seven Nepali cricketers who played in the tournament were honored. They have participated in previous editions.
The closing ceremony was attended by the ambassadors of Bangladesh and China, the Secretary-General of SAARC, the acting ambassador of Malaysia and other diplomatic missions. Officials of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), Pakistan-Nepal Alumni Network, Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association, and Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council were present.
Consul of the Pakistani Embassy Iqbal Haider highlighted the role of the tournament in promoting emerging cricket talent in Nepal and informed that the embassy will continue its efforts to promote cricket at the grassroots.
